  • Maintain occupational health and safety programs and policies.
  • Provide appropriate tools and personal protective equipment to carry out the work safely and efficiently.

Respect for OUR ENVIRONMENT

We aim to eliminate, minimize, and mitigate the impacts of our operations on the environment and maintain its viability and its diversity.

To achieve this, we:

  • Foster an environmentally conscious culture at all workplaces.
  • Avoid or minimize land disturbance and unnecessary clearing of bush vegetation whenever possible, if not, we will endeavor to have prior coordination with relevant government agencies and secure the necessary permits
  • Enforce the zero use of toxic wastes and hazardous materials.
  • Minimize the generation of solid waste, ensure its proper disposal and reduce environmental footprint.
  • Control the use and storage of fuels, lubricants, and drilling fluids.
  • Minimize noise, dust, and smoke pollution.
  • Implement energy conservation measures.
  • Report all environmental incidents or risks in the workplace immediately to management.
  • Restore, rehabilitate, and monitor lands affected by exploration, construction, and operations.
  • Comply with all national and local legal environmental laws.
  • Apply the best environmental methods during exploration and development activities.
  • Support and train employees in environmental protection and management.
  • Implement initiatives to improve community environmental practices.
  • Regularly consult and communicate with stakeholders and the government on environmental protection and management.

Respect for Our Communities

In line with our commitment to the principles of Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainable Development, we aim to contribute to the social and economic well-being of  communities associated with our operations. To achieve this, we:

  • Respect and promote the culture, customs, interests, and rights of the local communities.
  • Engage, inform, and consult with communities to establish mutually beneficial relationships at all stages of work activities.
  • Support local communities and their sustainability through locally sourcing of goods and services and employing local people that have the necessary and appropriate skills and building their capabilities so they can acquire and improve such skills.
  • Provide a confidential complaint reporting mechanism to report unethical, illegal, or irresponsible behaviour of employees or company contractors.
  • Ensure that no child labour and any form of forced and compulsory labour are permitted in the workplace.
  • Foster an open, transparent, and respectful dialogue with all communities of interest and ensure that activities on private or indigenous lands are performed with the consent of the landowners.
  • Provide assurance that company operations will not support, benefit, or contribute to unlawful armed conflict, and serious human rights abuse.
  • Establish positive ties and relationships with small-scale or artisanal miners to help cultivate a sense of responsibility towards ensuring safe, secure, healthy and rewarding operations.
